Hi there! I have been grappling between buying an Off Road with KDSS or just going with the SR5 with 4WD. I don't off road lot so i do not particularly need to buy an OR, although very cool, with lots of nice off roading features, i just don't think i will ever use. The only thing that is bugging me a bit about the SR5 is the roll/nose dive/etc because it does not have KDSS.

Is there anyway to update the suspension on an SR5 after purchase to make it feel similar to one with KDSS or at least lessen the roll of the vehicle?

Stiffer coils and / or better front struts.

Thanks for the Advice Snickel! Read around a lot last night and seems like everyone has their reasons for both sides of the story. I think i can live with the swaying so long as there is a way to reduce it slightly should i need to in the future, which sounds like there is!

New struts go a long way in reducing the nose dive and body roll.

If you like a pretty firm ride, Bilstein 5100's would be worth looking into for the least expensive fix.

If you still don't find that firm enough, you can add stiffer coils that work with those 5100's.

A tire with a thicker sidewall will also help you feel more planted.

It doesn't sound like you need an Off Road to me. With the savings of buying an SR5, you would save you enough money to purchase those struts and tires (or at least get pretty close).

No way in hell can you make suspension match KDSS.

That being said KDSS is worth it on road as well.

    Turning = part of driving

Body roll was listed. Which is KDSS almost make it feel non existent.

Thank you all! I went with the SR5 premium. There was still a 2019 left at a dealership and got a pretty sweet deal on it. Appreciate all the advice. Now time to make some mods!

thank you! Color is classic silver. My hope is to make some simple/cheaper updates to start and make it look relatively similar to the 2011 Trail Edition 4runner. Some guy down the street from me has one and it looks amazing.

If any of you have suggestions on the below, let me know!

Black emblem overlays - read reviews for a lot of different brands for this and many say theirs fall off due to the double sided tape being weaker.
    Black tailgate cover
    Black door handles
    Black upper and lower valances

Bilstein 5100s will resolve your concern.
