I got to take my 4runner out to play in the snow. Not something we see very often.20180103_153123.jpg 20180103_153200.jpg 20180103_123833.jpg 20180103_132248.jpg 20180103_154355.jpg

Wow, it must be so bizarre living in the south and getting snow. That is more then we usually get up here in the Portland, OR area.

On another note, do you work for Fluke? I work for and electrical wholesaler and we sell a bunch of Fluke products.

how did people do in it, last time I was in Seattle with a couple of inches it was fun to watch the city come to a stop, I can't imagine the south getting snow like that.

I don't work for fluke, but I calibrate and use a ton of their instruments and standards everyday.

Curious to know if anyone has had a problem with snow / ice build up on the front sensors causing the annoying alarm to beep, beep!, BEEP!!!? Can you disable the darn things?

The front corner sensors on the bumper that detect objects. While I do not have the parking assist feature on my ride, I believe it is part of that overall system. My owner's manual acknowledges that snow and dirt can cause a false positive but I was wondering if I can turn them off altogether. The beeping is pretty freaking annoying when driving in the snow. I have 2 options currently: 1) suck it up 2) stop every mile or so and clean the sensor off. I am looking for other options.

From a safety regulation standpoint, NO - I shouldn't be able to disable it. From a customer satisfaction and a drivability standpoint, I want options. I've got to believe that other owners have encountered the same. ??? OR could be a PICNIC (problem in chair, not in car).

I'll politely disagree, I can disable traction and stability controls and on some vehicles I can control the passenger airbags as well. This should be able to be disabled even if like the traction control it turns back on with the next start or when certain speeds are met. particularly if snow or dirt can cause it to be non operational, at that point why does it need to be on? Do you have the limited?

are you certain it is the front sensors, I've heard if you have a ball in the receiver on the rear that can also cause them to trip back there.

What does the symbol look like?
