Hello everyone, I’m currently out in the middle of nowhere and noticed that after a long 4+hr drive I parked my 5th gen and got out to hear a loud slurping sound from the underside of the vehicle just before the rear tire on the driver side. It isn’t the normal fuel pump buzz we all hear. And the vehicle is parked facing downwards slightly. Nothing is leaking that I can see.

The sound stops when the engine is off and resumes when I start it. I’m just afraid it’s a failing fuel pump or some line obstruction or air in the line. Anyone have any guidance?

The vehicle exhibits no other symptoms and has no loss of power or performance.

    Thanks so much!

What year? There was a recall for the low pressure pickup pump from 2019 forward I believe.

I can't say for sure whether I've noticed the same sound. Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck in finding out!

This has been discussed in depth before. It's part of the emissions system purging fumes from the gas tank after the vehicle has shut down. Usually it happens from 10 minutes to an hour after parked.

I’ve noticed a weird sound as if water is sizzling/gurgling somewhere in the rear but I only notice it after car washes. Interesting.
