I'm considering getting a set of Savage Off-Raod sliders. I've been under the impression that welding the sliders is the best way to mount; however I've seen some guys just bolt on. What's your thoughts? What's the likelihood of tearing the frame with welded sliders? Thanks.

Welded. It's cheaper, stronger, and it gives you more flexibility in how you want to mount them. You're as likely to tear the frame with bolt-ons if they're properly mounted, using really strong bolts.

I always weld on sliders whenever possible. I want them to be as solid and integrated as they can be, after all they're there to deflect damage to the vehicle so I want them to do their job without question of deflecting

Weld them, no question about it. It is going to save your truck if you oh decide to almost fall off a Mt. or get shoved into a tree on a trail.
