yes. it has yet to be determined. but as you can see, it's just one wire difference between 2014-2019 vs 2020.

I have successfully upgraded my 2014-2020 Toyota 4Runner SR-5 to use TRD Pro mirrors with turn signals and puddle lamp.

This project would not have been possible without the retrofit wiring harness and detailed instructions provided by Tanner, aka Old Red. With his kit, you can upgrade the standard heated mirrors on a 2014-2020 Toyota 4Runner SR-5 to also include the side mirror turn signal and puddle lamp found TRD Pro mirrors. In upgrading my 2019 SR-5, I used aftermarket TRD Pro mirrors with the aftermarket sequential LED turn signals. I've posted the finished results on YouTube. Total project cost was $270 for all three products.

If you would like more information on the retrofit wiring harness, which was made using OEM Toyota components, visit Old Red's Instagram page.

I have a 2020 4Runner TRD Pro and it doesn't have the lights on the mirrors. Apparently the turn lights and puddle lights are found on Japan Domestic Models (JDM) not on American Domestic Models (ADM). Ebay has them for sale but expensive and it's difficult to determine which will fit the 4runner model. I may be incorrect and some American 4runner sub-models or other models like the Highlander may also have mirror lights that fit the 4runner. I have purchased the add-on lights but now need the complete housing. Any info on finding the correct mirror housing with lights for the TRD Pro would be appreciated. And hopefully Oldred will start making the adapter wire harness again. I left him a message on Instagram but no response yet.

Just get oem or replacement 4runner mirrors with puddles/turn signals. The harness is different for these with the harness from OldRed, you should be fine.

Anyone who has installed them recently in the past month or so, notice whether or not they fit better? I have hesitated on these as many people have commented on they don't sit flush in the seat used by the original lamp socket. Wondering minds want to know...

the meso puddles is not 100% perfect fitment . But the area that doesn’t sit flush is not a big issue. You don’t actually see it unless your looking for it.

when you follow the contour of the puddle light against the bottom of the mirror, that’s where it’s not 100% flush. IMHO, it’s okay. The angled you mostly see the mirror does not show this defect.

Is there any concern for water ingress with the gap? Would setting the area with some sealant address the issue or would that be too messy in your opinion?

Just added some pics. Water will not get into this grooves unless it’s submerged.

Das Capitolin, please provide the source and item number for the aftermarket TRD Pro mirrors with turn signals and puddle lights. I also have that vehicle and have been searching for aftermarket mirrors. Thanks--

Hello! Just wanted to revisit this to attempt to get something me guidance on consensus.

    I have a base 2017 SR5.

If I were to purchase the following parts, would I be able to upgrade my mirrors to ones with turn signals and puddle lights?

    Mirror-Right/Passenger: 87910-35C01

    Mirror-Left/Driver: 87940-35B71

    2x Wire Harness: 82508-35050

Or, would I still be missing something? (Like additional wiring/harnesses in kick panel, etc?)

    Thank you

Contact OldRed on IG. You’ll need this harness to complete the conversion.

How was the quality of these mirrors compared to the OEM mirrors?

It seems old red isn’t making the harnesses anymore. I’ve intermittently checked his IG and also messaged him to no avail. I have everything else to do this retrofit aside from that harness. Any other solutions anybody knows of?

I guess just splice at this point.

On a side note, how do you like those alpha Rex lights with Adain James fog light accents? I already have the Adain james lights and I’m real close to pulling the trigger on the alpha Rex lux. Only concern with the AR it the brightness of the DRL. Is it bright enough in the daytime?

I did this mod on my '21 TRD Pro using OEM turn signal mirrors, upgraded the turn signals to sequential LEDs from 4Runner lifestyle dot com, replaced the incandescent puddle lamp bulb with LED equivalent and also installed RAV4 blind spot mirrors from Toyota. I got the harness from Old Red to make the connections be just like factory. I love this upgrade and wish Toyota supplied these mirrors with the TRD Pro. They do it in Canada but delete them on US versions, smh.

This is an expensive upgrade at around $200 per mirror, $110 for the blind spot mirrors, $80 for the sequential LEDs and $15 for the LED puddle light bulbs and $100 for Old Red's harness. So a bit over $700 as I did it. That being said, I love it and would do it again.

I got the harness from Old Red in late July. Communication with him is not great but once your order is in (he does these in batches and then goes silent) he will keep you notified as to shipping date, tracking and also will send you instructions. I think you can certainly make the turn signal mirrors work without this harness but it will require running some new wires to the turn signal mirror which are absent in the door as well as splicing into the factory wiring. Not complicated at all. I preferred not to do this and was fortunate to be able to get ahold of Old Red via IG (but not on my first try).

    Here is the result: https://youtu.be/a2n27UQi1-w

I too have a plain SR5 and do not miss those features. If I did decide that I could not live without them though, I would just take it to the dealer. That way, any problems are on them. JMO

I love them. Yes, the DRLs are bright AF. You won’t regret them!

I already have all the parts, (mirrors, sequential turns and Meso puddles) minus Tanner’s harness. I did eventually hear back from him. Said he intends to make more next year. So I’m either gonna wait for that or maybe see what I can figure out? I also already did the folding mirrors and rav 4 mirrors too.

    Update: SOLD to local buyer.

Anyone still looking for a harness made by old-red for the turn signal & puddle lamp?

I got one for my 2020 TRD Pro, but never installed it. Decided to not install anymore because I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to keep the vehicle and I don’t want to spend the extra time and money on the upgrade.

    See attached photo.

I'll sell it for $50 shipped.

I can attest this harness works great! I used it in my install and the conversion to blinker/puddle light mirrors looks and works like it came this way from the factory.
