Sounds like you should have the Toyota dealer look at it so they can tell you it's normal and that you are a spazz.

Or maybe you're not a spazz and they will fix it for you :notsure:

Rough shifting? Exactly how so? Auto shifting or manually? What RPM's? Upshifting or downshifting?

Toyota will tell you that you're a spazz even if it is busted af, lol.

Probably nothing, though. Test drive a new 4Runner and compare?

I wouldn't say mine is rough, but it isn't a luxury car, either. It shifts like a Toyota truck.

Mine has a slight lag with solid/firm engagement when down shifting manually. I'd prefer to have no lag, but like that the engagement is solid/firm.

Are aftermarket alternatives available for the 4Runner?

Seems there's a chip for everything these days. Not for me in this instance since shift timing means very little. Now, if was meant for running twisties....different story.

Sorry, I was referring to the mounts. Although, I personally wouldn't be interested in either. Hopefully Toyota designed the shifting and mounts together to provide longevity and reliability. That's primarily what I purchased the 4Runner for.

Haven't looked at the mounts. Are they running jelly mounts?
