New to forum and vehicle modifications.
    I have a 2016 4runner trail with 12,300 miles,
Toyota dealer installed Toytec boss coilovers to level the vehicle, approx. 2" lift,
Rear suspension is stock, no diff. drop.
My question is, I'm now experiencing creaking noise noticeable at low speed over wash board roads and I can feel every bump through the steering wheel.
Toyota dealer claims this is attributed to the kdss suspension.
Any one else with similar modification have this issue?

Guess I can let you know after Friday. Dealer is installing my Ultimate ToyTec then. Hope that is not the case with mine. It was what the dealer recommended and I have read a lot of good reviews.

I did a lot of research also.
Maybe I'm overly critical. The stance of the vehicle is impressive.
dealer also said to give it some time to settle?.
I'm heading to Michigans UP in 2 weeks for some trail riding, I'll see how this effects the suspension upgrade.

I'd be interested in your opinion on the upgrade.
    Thanks.

I have the Toytech boss kit with KDDS on a 2013. As far as feeling every bump in the steering wheel I have that too. Whats interesting is when I had the alignment done this last time it isn't as noticeable anymore:notsure:. Not sure on the creaking.

I have a 2017 trd off road. No lift yet, but plan to in the next month. It creaks a lot. Even just getting out of the truck it creaks. I am going to ask about it when I bring it in for the 5k service. I did take it off-road and banged it around a bit underneath.

    I have kdss

I'm running king on my 2014 with KDSS. Feel nothing out of the ordinary.

Had dealer remove toytec boss coilovers and replace with original equipment.
    Back to stock.
Dealer said problem was with kdss, and they didn’t want to attempt any other options to lift vehicle.
    Refunded my money.
Would like a second option but unable to find off road shop in Michigan
    That works on Toyota’s.

I have a toytech boss with the 700lb coils on a 3” lift, but without kdss. No issues. I personally think it is the shop you went to. Did you have your lift installed by toyota, if so there is your problem.

Where are you located in Michigan?

I have KDSS and had Bilstein 5100s installed Tuesday at Harold's Frame Shop in Novi and all is perfect. Exactly as I hoped, though I only lifted the truck one inch. KDSS was no issue at all.

    Yes.
From all the research I have done the kdss system needed to be recalibrated,
dealership didn’t want to open system to compensate for the lift.

Looks like we’re neighbors - I’m in Northville.

If you still want to pursue some changes, call Bryan at Harolds Frame Shop. The shop is located on Grand River between Beck and Novi road. He was recommended to me by a local PEP Boys and everything, including installation and alignment, worked out perfectly and my KDSS was never an issue.

I have a dealer installed Toytec Ultimate on my 2017 Off Road with KDSS. all seems good to me. This was the lift recommended by the dealer, and they do a lot of off road modifications. They even have a seperate department at the dealership for modifications.

    Thanks for the info.
After the ordeal I went tru with the Toyota dealer I’ve been reluctant to
    Try another lift.
But the truck sure looked better when it was level.
    I’m going to call “Harolds”.
    I’ll keep you posted.

Yes, level definitely looks better - even just an inch.

I don’t know if Harolds’s recommends certain lift upgrades because I determined and supplied my own, but they do great work on installs. Good luck whatever you decide.
