Upon searching and searching and more searching for anyone who makes a lightbar mount for a 3rd gen, or any 4runner for that matter, I cannot find a single person or company who makes a decent mount. Those I've found who sell mounts (which won't work on a 4runner anyway) sell these for $170+ and they are not too appealing to the eye nor mount the bar flush whatsoever.

I have designed a pair of mounts that will work on 96-2002 4runners and 95.5-2004 Tacoma's that accommodate a 41.5" lightbar.

The mounts are CNC cut, bent, welded, drilled, and powder coated satin black and use (2) 1" self tapping screws for each side in the gutters.

Price is $135 powder coated and shipped to the lower 48.

*****Will be available for 4th gens in the next couple weeks*****

Ok, so X2 to the jizz in my 4th gen pants!

Only questions I have would be: The 4th gen door is different, how would this work without marring the paint? And if I was to remove this because I plan on getting a roof rack with an integrated light bar, how screwed would I be, on a level of Ferd to Geo, for rust and bullshit associated with removing the screws?

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some boxers to change.

Hoping to have the 4th gen mounts finished up today. They won't mount in the door, they will mount in the gutters on the roof (3rd gens don't have that gutter) and will accommodate a 50" light bar, and I'm looking into a soft pad for bottom of the mounts so it doesn't mess up the paint.

They are just self tappers - if you were to remove them permanently I would just use silicone to seal up the holes, which are pretty small anyway.

I'm also throwing around the idea of making sets for a 41.5" bar… but a 50" bar seems to be where it's at for 4th gens.

What do you mean by a rain gutter mount? I'm sure I can make you what you're looking for. We will be making light bar mounts for all gens soon enough.

So, update on the 4th gen mounts….

These are proving pretty tricky to make the way we have designed them. BUT they are pretty awesome. Low profile and stealthy. I'm pretty stoked on them, but they aren't done yet. They need a little fine tuning and we need to make sure they work correctly before we start selling them - they will be ready soon…

The 1st gen needs a simple old school clamp type mount for external rain gutter like the old roof racks.

I see what you mean, I'll put it on the drawing board. Probably get to the first gen stuff after the 4th gen mounts are final, as well as the 2nd gen taco mounts.

Sweet! Yeah it's in the fine tuning stage now. Ran into some annoying problems like certain 50" bars measuring 51", and others measuring the correct 50"… and that one inch equals a mile. I'm pretty excited to show you guys the finished piece though. I like it better than all the other mounts out there for everything else.

It will mount pre runner style right on top of the windshield like the others, it's pretty sleek. Hoping to have them finished by next week, week after at the latest.

I'd post a teaser pic, but I don't want to, because it's not going to look anything like the unfinished mount haha.

Yeah they still need some fine tuning. I'm not going to start selling them if they don't work right. Thank's for your patience guys.
