Sure man, knock yourself out. Do those cases have a means of securing themselves? I would go for hardware attachment rather than using straps.

i would use thru bolts with rubber washers to seal out water.

Yeah that would probably work. Use some big washers to spread the load out on the inside of the case.

Spent all my gun money. =(
I've considered the same cases. I have used this case for rifle storage and it's an outstanding case for this or any price.

If you move forward with this please post your results. :)

IMG_2911.jpg IMG_2913.jpg IMG_2914.jpg IMG_2912.jpg IMG_2915.jpg IMG_2911.jpg I got them mounted! I used brass bolts with rubber washers and perforated flat stock metal strip to help on strength. After doing the brass bolt and strip, the case was still flexing a little, so i just shot a few self-piercing screws with neoprene washers. the self piercing screws did the trick. One of the pics. show what's stored. shovel, small saw, heavy duty jumper cables, Harbor Freight air comp., 36" pry bar, tire repair kit. The other box on driver side will hold soft shackles, tow straps, snatch block, kinetic energy rope, etc.....

Nice work. Just be aware that your rack may get a little rusty where the self-tapping screw drilled through the metal. Looking good!

Drove back from the Overland Expo East, outside of Hendersonville NC, it rained the whole 5+ hours. I checked the roof cases for leaks....DRY AS A BONE! I saw more than a few other roof racks with gun cases attached, I think this is a good way for storage. The two cases knocked my MPG down from 17.8 Avg. to 16.6 Avg. I'm hoping that MPG will come back up in better driving conditions!
