    Hey All,
Anyone running a Roam awning on a trdp rack? What mounts did you use and what size awning?

I was initially thinking a 5ft awning since it would come more flush to the rack and I would likely only need shade for 2. Would 6ft be better? Also anyone have experience with the Baja rack awning mounts?

    TIA!

I don’t have a pro rack, but I do have a roam awning. More shade is always better than not enough, even for two.

Definitely right about the shade. Which size did you go with and how are you liking it?

CE561561-24A1-4813-826D-907474CC7DFE.jpg We went with the 8ft, which has been great for my wife and I and our two small kids. I’ll have to get some pictures with it open next time we are using it.

What roof racks are these 8 footers mounted to? How much length is unsupported by the rack?

Mine is an Uptop Overland Bravo. It's 96" long but the way I have the shade mounted compared to how the rack sits the back extends past rack by a few inches and clears the hatch.

    All of them.
Another option for maximum coverage if your budget can handle it is ovs 180. Super simple setup (I find it was easier than the roll out awnings) and sturdy as hell.91BADBE3-A586-485B-A931-93D2138D4F9F.jpg

Recently ordered Roams 5 X 8 awning for our PRO rack. Thought long and hard about Roams 6' 5" awning but didn't think an additional 10 sq ft of shade made that big a difference. However, if you want or may in the future consider their enclosure? The 6' 5" is a must buy because the enclosure is not offered for the smaller awning. fwiw

    Also ordered these mounts.

Thought about Baja mounts, but in the end Fourtrek won my business because they also offer a shovel mount which I preferred to Baja's Ax & shovel mount combo.

    Choices ;)

Best of luck whatever you decide.

Do you have it installed yet and do you like it. If so, can you post some pics?
