Replacing manual passenger seat with power seat

Hey everyone,

So I have the opportunity to replace all of cloth interior in my 2019 off road with the softex interior from an off road premium.

However I am not completely sure if the wiring harness under my manual passenger seat will plug right into the power seat and work. I know I need to wire the seat warmers if I want to use those, but I mainly care about the seat adjustments work.

Mine has three plugs and it also has fuses in the interior fuse box for both side power seats

can someone with an off road premium please post a picture of the 3 wiring plugs under their passenger seat? I want to confirm this before I drive an hour for the seats.

@DJ022, I did something very similar with my SR5. Your off-road is very likely fully wired for the power passenger seat, and for the heated seat function on the passenger side. From 2014-2019 the base and premium trims used the exact same "core" wire harnesses for the dash, and passenger side body harness (in your case likely driver side too since it is an off-road with diff lock). The power seat will be a drop in, as will the passenger heated seat setup. You will need the switches and small center console harness. The driver heated seat setup might need three wires. Double check though because it is an off-road and may already have it (My SR5 required some additional wires to be added).

L & R-heated seat switches: 84751-35131 & 84751-35141
Center Console Harness (goes to both switches and the tailgate window switch): 82223-35100

I’m really not great with the whole wiring stuff up so I am hoping for complete plug and play. I really don’t care about heated seats and would want someone to set that all up for me.
In the meantime though, would I be fine to plug everything up except for the heated seat switches and stuff or would that make the heater stay on constantly?

 

The passenger seat will be plug and play. Without the switches in place, the heated seats won't turn on. To wire those switches up, you just pop the center console trim plate off (held in by clips), and swap out the console harness, put in the switches, and plug everything in and reassemble. The driver seat will likely be plug and play as well, but double check to see if all the wires are present on that connector (Ob1) for the heated seat in your vehicle.

Don't pay someone to do a literal 5 minute job for the heated seats to work. Swapping seats just requires a 14mm socket and ratchet. Just disconnect the battery for safety before you swap the front seats since they do contain airbags.

 

Do Off Road Premiums come with a powered adjusting passenger seat?

 

Yes. All premium trims from 2014-24 come with a power passenger seat. It's only us base trim guys that get the manual adjustment (even though it is prewired).
