    Hola!

Wanted to see what people are using for remote starter options out there? I'm not really wanting to take it to Best Buy or any other car alarm company. I'd rather install on my own.

Any good brands out there for relatively cheap?

    Let me know.

I have a compustar in my 2018 and it works great. I had a very reputable shop do they work.

I also have another compustar in a 2014 CRV and that has worked great for several years now.

I don't think Compustar really sells to consumers directly though.

Yeah this is the one option the wife misses. As she works early in the morning she would like to have the seats warmed and a warm cabin once she gets in. I've been researching on the limited ootion, but I hear that once you open the door engine shuts off. Then have to restart the engine an undue wear and tear on the engine.

Just walked in from the garage after installing the 12volt.solutions.com plug and play remote start with cell phone interface on my 2015 Limited.
It took longer to remove the lower dash panel then to install the three prewired connectors for the remote start module and one for the cell phone interface. Fifteen minutes and the install is done. It works from the factory smart key, although it does not improve the 10 foot range. The cell phone app lets you start, stop, lock, unlock and find it by GPS location. I used the android app and had no problems by following the included instructions. The salesman I talked to was knowledgable and friendly. The price for yearly service is only $29 USD through the app. If your sitting on the fence, go for it.

Interesting... When I reached out to 12volt.solutions.com, they advised that the only way that their remote start works is with push to start... Therefore, I was turned off and just decided to order a Viper 5706v.

I probably should have made this clearer. This system is only for Smart Key systems like the Limited version.

Thanks we're looking for an after market option for remote start without the engine turning once you open the car...

We have a couple new key start 4Runners coming over from the dealership next week, and we have 2010 coming into the shop this Saturday. We have new firmware that allows the OEM fob to start the vehicle like the H-hey Toyotas. We will be testing the new firmware and to test functionality. Currently, we have to use a remote kit with our systems in order to utilize our plug and play system on the 4Runner.

Do you foresee the kit being available for non limited model 4Runners some time this year ?

No sir. The motor will kill, if you put your foot on the brake (to put it in gear), with out the key in the ignition, in the correct spot.

So, hit the START button on the fob, it starts, and sends a "hey, your shits running" icon back to the fob, letting you know, the rig is running.
Do your thing, then, Unlock the rig, put the key in, click it over 2 clicks, and then your ready to roll. You can set a timer, for how long it runs. And, you can reset said timer, if you wanna let it run longer. Or, if the ole lady wants to knock one off with ya before you leave, real fast, you can shut it down from the fob also. I love it.
It has a add on module , called the "DRONE" also, that lets you ditch the fob, and use your phone, to do everything, which, im my eyes, seems wicked cool, and am doing as soon as it comes in to the shop i ordered it from.
    I love it so far.

The drone thing, if your interested.

Also, I think I know what your getting at.. my buddy has a AS on his rig, but when we go to get in it, it shuts off opening the door. I found that irritating as hell. You have to start it again, when ya jump in. That's why in my vid, I used the auto start, then opened the door ;)

Yes sir! Posted the video about 2 weeks ago and have sold a bunch of them. We had 1 dealer alone buy 30 kits.. apparently they sell a boat load of 4Runners!

FYI - The vehicle does NOT turn off when a door is opened ;) AND no hacking of your vehicles wiring! Its a simple 1 or 2 wire install depending on the trim of your 4Runner.

We are about to upload a new video. The current video appears to black out at the end and doesn't show the demo. I'm removing the link above and will update shortly...

    UPDATED VIDEO IS NOW UP!

The 12 volt solutions remote start seems exactly what I have been looking for with the phone module.

I’ll add that to my “overtime want list”.

Whos the forum mod? I'm thinking a group buy is in order! We have to abide by the rules so lets get this party started. I think we have 32 of these on hand at the moment and should have a few hundred by the end of the month

None of our G-Key or H-Key kits will kill the motor when the door is opened. On the push button start vehicles, that unfortunately does not apply.

Not gonna have a remote start installed until I can find a place that can install it into the OEM key fob itself.... I'm not walking around with an extra fob on my key chain...
