On to my 3rd 4Runner, 2016 Barcelona Red SR5. I am coming from a 1996 E-locked Limited. I am bummed about losing the E-locker, but I am pretty excited about getting into a vehicle will less miles. This is my wife DD and my weekend adventure rig, so the build will be nice and slow. Here is the starting point:

Received my AJT Design key fob in.
    [IMG]Untitled by redrunner87, on Flickr
Of course my transponder was glued in, but I ended up destroying the key fob around the transponder. The hardest part for me was getting the key out the fob.

After a lot of prying and heating got the last bit up plastic off. Ordered a second set of red buttons so I can have the red panic button. I'll update when I get it.

Dude... the faux grille where’d you get it and how much. Had one on my Tacoma and no one knew. I’m all about not spending $500 on a piece of plastic.

Trail Standard Off-road. Since the 4Runner grill is two piece you still have to get the upper from Toyot. But still comes up like half the price of the OEM one.

Maybe eventually down the road. Heard the ATRAC system is pretty good, and won’t do anything that’s too crazy till the little one is a little bigger. So going mild for now.

So question about this mod you did, what steps did you do to swap out the mirror? When I look at my tacoma (3rd gen) vs the 4runner they also appear to have the same size mirror.

I aimed the mirrors all the way up and pulled out. They are held on by clips so they pop out with a little work.

My buddy SWEARS by AMSOIL, so I decided to give them a shot. Did a quick Engine Flush, since I don't know the maintenance history before we bought it. I am bummed the TRD Pro grill is buried in our storage unit so I couldn't get that installed.

I use that snake oil also. Works well. Try using the Amsoil P.I. every oil change. Fill the tank, dump that stuff in it, and beat the car for the full tank. Many full throttle episodes if you know what I mean. That stuff works and fights the effects of ethanol on the fuel system

I know run the Chevron fuel injector cleaner through it every oil change, but haven’t heard anything on the PI. Might buy a bottle next oil change or at the 5k maintenance schedule. I’ve been running only Shell in it, so hopefully that’s helping. Never hurts to add a bottle though.

It's prob the same stuff or at least similar, but I have had good luck with the P.I. for years. I use it in all my Four stroke motors from time to time. It seems to work.

I’m sure it’s pretty similar. Usually a bunch of detergents to help clean the fuel lines/injectors. But if I can order everything together it beats buying the chevron stuff separate.

Thanks! Saving for a house so doing the "cheap mods" right now. Was hoping to dip the rails this week but the weather hasn't be cooperating.
