Recovery Points on a Limited 5th Gen

    Blacked out, level kit, TRD Pro Rims, BFG KO2 275/70/17
    Guys, what have you all done regarding recovery points? I have an ‘18 Limited. Per the manual you can use the two eyelets in the front, but how do you attach a tow rope to them without ripping off the lower valance? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Aside from their perceived additional beefiness, can someone enlighten me as to why these aftermarket products wouldn't raise the same concerns about the OP's worry about "ripping off the lower valence"? They look to be positioned about the same as the stock recovery points...

    Perhapse a failure during recovery at the factory tiedown would lodge the d-ring into the front facia and rip the bumper off? Other then that not sure if anything but minior scraping of plastic from a muddy strap? Or popping some body mount clips off?

    Sorry just relooked at pic of front of limited and see your concern as they are tucked in there pretty well. Body damage likley from that location

    Okay, thanks. I think there have been prior discussions about the sturdiness (or not) of the factory recovery/tow point. If the issue is a failure then I see your point. I'd think the possibility of scraping wouldn't be any better or worse based on those photos, or so it seems to me.
