I like it since its removable and in my opinion the best looking hitch swing out. I havent ordered the fuel holder, but plan too, along with the fold down table.

Yeah that's crazy although Rgid has never been $670. Lowest I remember seeing was $1200 base. I think they went for $1100 during preorder.
Detours of Maine used to be $625 just a year ago and now it's $795...

Satisfied with the Detours carrier. Took about 6 months to get. On for the past 6 months and haven't had the tighter the mount even once since.

Do plan on some additional work to setup license plate lights and camera relo. Not great pics but if look closely you can see that I made a small extension for the camera so the spare didn't take up half the screen. Originally tried adenjames relocation with camera under spoiler but that was even worse.

You can also see that I used the trailer plug to power the license plate LEDs. I don't pull a trailer and this makes the whole thing easy to remove including the wiring.

This is such a frustrating segment for me.

I want to avoid getting a rear metal bumper to save weight, but when I see the prices on some of these hitch-mounted swing outs, you just wonder if it's best to go the whole hog and get a rear bumper with integrated carrier.

Completely agree with comparing these MFG prices on a Hitch Type-vs- an actual rear single swing out bumper … it’s crazy!
Detours of Maine is really nice for price!

Agree. I keep looking at the ability to remove if vehicle is totaled or I sell. Hitch bumper stays with me. However the current prices are fast approaching to being equal.

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
I'm looking at picking up beater 2 door Wrangler for a trail toy and have been looking at accessories and lifts.

Jeep Wrangler steel bumpers plus tire swings go for $570 to $600:
    https://www.extremeterrain.com/barricade-rear-bumper-j20849.html

A steel rear off road bumper is like $500
    https://www.extremeterrain.com/orfab-rear-bumper-0718-jk.html

I wouldn't mind just a steel rear bumper for my 4Runner (no tire or jerry can swings). Cheapest I can find is still around $1230!!!

Man are they ever, and the materials cost for many of these fabricators is only going up. But yeah the idea of being able to quickly remove the carrier is enticing.

I wanted to ask, is this your personal setup? with the bikes on the back do you have a significant or concerning wobble or does it feel solid?

Dirtcom throwing major shade at the Rigd

And when you add the $50 to get your plate legally lit on the Rigd, it makes them much more closely priced.

I highly recommend against DOM. His only method of communication is DM via FB. His website doesn't have any phone number listed and his social media posts block comments. He posts messages about trying to catch up on messaging and how he is ready to accept more orders but I think he's running a Ponzi scheme. If you don't get it within 5 months, request a refund from PayPal. After 6 months you have no recourse except to sit and wait and believe his lies about trying to actually make good on his products.

I've been waiting 11 months and he has not bothered to send me a message for over 2 months while making false posts on FB that he is trying to catch up yet he's willing to advertise for more orders. At this point I doubt he will ever see a product.

Have to agree with @solmin on this unfortunately. Placed my order in February with DOM and was told 12 weeks. After a month or so started seeing these type posts popping up with people currently waiting over a year that still hadn't received. He stopped communicating at the 12 week/3 month point. I started a dispute with PayPal just before my 6 month protection ran out (thanks for the heads up) and he hasn't even responded to that. Will officially request funds return in a couple of days since he hasn't responded and that's all the time I have left to dispute my order with PayPal. After considering a full bumper cover replacement, I'm happy to report that a vendor on the other 4runner forum (Southern Style Offroad) has picked up on a close fitting hitch mounted swingout that a member made and is currently in the R&D stage from what I can tell. I've emailed them requesting any new information and will create a new thread when I hear back from them.

Please reply back with photos and a list of pros/cons if you have time! I'm really bummed about cancelling the DOM order and on the fence about picking out something else. Between the costs and fitments of hitch mounts it makes me think I should just go full rear with swingout. Then I think about the cost and weight penalty of a full rear (on top of license plate light and rear camera relocations, also with hitch mounts) I think I should just go ahead with the lift/tires and forget about having the spare on back since I think a 285 will still fit underneath and 99% sure that's as large as I'll ever go

You got it! I still love the Demello rear swing out, but I realized I needed to do other upgrades before I pull the trigger on that one. And I was able to get a lefthand trailswing in about 3 weeks!

That’s the Trail Edition build for Toyota. Mine is a 2011, I just clean them with Slick products and the color is still solid.
    And thanks!

oh, for those still looking the Rigd and Dirtcom have resale values in NorCall for $1,400 all the way up to $1,900 I’d they have all the addons. I tried to buy a used one for $1,500 but it sold faster than j could get there.

Southern Style Offroad (SSO) emailed me back today but just gave me a link to the thread I had already seen on the other forum and said they'd post updates when they have them. After pricing out full rears again (also looking at shipping) I'm leaning towards dirtcom or rigd. Interesting video posted above by dirtcom, sways me a bit towards them
