I’m looking at the RCI roof rack, rock sliders, and armor. Is it pretty good stuff? The pricing seems more reasonable than others, I just want to make sure the quality is still good.

I have their skid plates and rock sliders on my 23 Pro. So far they are holding up.

I also had their rock sliders on my 20 Pro and they help up fine for 3 years.

I was wondering the same thing. I had them on my list for rock sliders, and they had the best price on my list. They look great.

RCI for full protection on bottom. Westcott Designs for rock sliders, roof rack, and ladder.

I’ve only ever bought their skids and some of their bed rack accessories. I’ve never had any issues and the skids held up great to my abuse (which was a lot)

I’ve had the skids for the better part of a decade and their sliders for probably 6 years. No complaints.

I’ve got their roof rack and sliders and think the quality is top notch and the designs are the best out there. I’m extremely happy with them and fully recommend.

I've have their sliders and skids for a couple of years, no complaints. If I had to do it over I'd probably get their flat aluminum rack too. They seem to be pretty popular here with a good reputation - if people had issues, you'd see posts

I only see the option for 5 or 20 degrees, did they have 0 degrees in the past? That’s why I chose someone else, I was after flat sliders.

I have the aluminum fuel tank skid and its strong and well built. I went with RSG for the others, as CBI and RSG front skids had better/wider coverage. CBI looked the best but their wait times are extremely long and they cost a lot more.

Check out 4xInnovations sliders and skids. They bolt to each other creating a cohesive unit that works together protecting your 4R. The skids also are a little wider and offer some protection to the lower control arm pivot points. The front skid is 1/4" plate. The sliders use 13 bolts on each side, and surround the frame on 3 sides. I have an RCI gas tank skid and that hasn't held up as well as the 4x armor.

I don't have the RCI skid plates on my 4R (yet!) but I've had them (aluminum ones) on my F150 for 8 years. Very stout, provide great protection.

Very excited to get my sliders from them. Ordered the 20 degree with plates and coated. Been three weeks now and I can hardly wait. Next will be their aluminum skids, then that'll do till i pay the truck off.

I was gonna say the same thing! I bought my skidset from them after seeing Stoney Rangers set up in person. I only have the main skid plate set that go back to the transfer case, but I was really surprised that full coverage skids were cheaper than most other options. It’s seriously stout armor, and heavy enough to require stronger coils front and back. Also, you need to take most of it off to do any suspension, transmission servicing, or driveline greasing. You’ll feel like you are driving around an MRAP lol. Both in terms of protection, and the heavy lifting required for maintenance :p

Is 5 degrees even noticeable? I’m looking at the 5 as I have a wife and kids who would still use it as a step but I figured 5 would be barely noticeable by anyone.

5 has been recommended as it still has “some” angle but not any you would really notice for a step. I’m actually looking at those for my ORP as I dislike the predator steps, but my wife likes having a better step than the 20 degree sliders I had on my last 4Runner.

I have full RCI full skids and 5 degree sliders. All is well built and figment is perfect. I expected the 5 degree to be barely noticeable, but it definitely is. I’m ok with it. See pic.

Maybe not visually noticeable because the step plates will be leveled off and parallel with the ground, but I guess due to the 5 degree raise they’d be a tad bit more awkwardly high to use as a step. Trade offs. I was thinking of going with Slee at one point, they looked like the best “Steps” that are actual rock sliders.

5 degree doesn't make a difference in using it as a step.

Reference: I have a kid who's been using the kickout version as a step since she was 5

Rci sliders do not make for good steps.. too little surface area for the front doors

I got the rsg 0 deg sliders… much wider than rci. Exiting the vehicle is still somewhat awkward due to smallish surface area. I have 9.5 size shoes

I agree. For the front doors, it’s not really useful as a stepping surface. The kickout on the back can work better as a step. I step directly in and out of the truck so this wasn’t a concern for me, but if using as a step for the front, RCI might not be the best option as they are a little narrower than other options.

My wife has issues using it as a step for front doors but makes it work. I, too, step over mine and just use as a step to get to the roof rack when needed. Even with them being a bit narrow, I still manage to catch my pant leg on them often and get mud or salt brine on them depending on the season. Food for thought if you want wider ones to use as more dedicated steps - there are always trade offs

I agree. My wife slides out of seat and typically gets pants dirty. The Wescotts are nice, flat and wide.

Westcott Designs are some of the best on the market. I went with the DOM / Tig weld kickout with top plates. I have several of their products and back them up 100% with Jeff and his team!

I’ve been running RCI sliders for 3 years and they are very good quality. I have been happy with the construction and the powder coating of the sliders. I have the 20* with the bump out. This setup does not provide a good step surface if that is what you are looking for. I feel there is enough surface to stand on to reach my roof rack but my whole foot will not fit on it when I’m standing on it.
