Got a 2020 SR5 4Runner. Drivers seat has power but the passenger seat does not have the ability to raise or lower and my wife has trouble seeing over the dash when I am driving. Wondering if I can remove passenger seat and safely put risers to raise the seat about 2”. Anybody done this and how successful were you.

There are risers available if you search. I agree they are needed, I don’t have them.

Searched another site and came up with a supplier but it is only raising the front of the passenger seat not the rear. Looking for something that raises it at both ends. Thanks for the reply.

There’s a thread on Tacoma World and a guy makes and sells spacers to raise the seats. I’ve not looked at the 4runner close enough to determine cross-compatibility. But maybe if you contact him he could make you what you need.

That said, this mod concerns me as far as safety goes (think: high speed collision). I’m not an engineer, and I think I’d want to get the opinion of one before attempting the mod.

    Here’s the thread:

As one of the posters replied about the safety aspect and the warranty, I guess maybe a pillow is a better idea after all.

What if you sourced another drivers seat? Mixed the parts with your passenger's seat, and rerouted the wiring to the other side of the seat? As long as the power connectors are the same for the drivers and passenger seat it should theoretically be possible.....Theoretically.

^^ not easy like it sounds especially deals with side airbag and seat cover, seat cushion transfer. Probably the seat frame will not align.

Just put on a pillow call it a day.
