I purchased my 2016 4Runner in October and overall I like it except for one big problem....the radio reception sucks. It is worse on AM but FM is nothing to write home about either. Fortunately the XM reception works well.
The vehicle's antenna is in the windshield I think, which may be part of the problem.
Is poor AM/FM radio reception a usual problem for 4Runners? Is there anything I can do to improve the radio's reception?
    Thanks!

I have the opposite problem.. Good FM reception, poor XM. I like XM when it's working, but I have no intention of subscribing with so many dropouts.

I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh
So where do you live, I haven't had any problems with the reception on mine even getting 40 miles away from town. Maybe swing by the dealer and have them check the antenna to see that everything is connected correctly.

Installed Rago brackets and 4" cube ditch lights. Weather tech mats. Cargo net. Cargo mat. Ordered Gobi rack with ladder.
Good advice as I've had no issues as well. Somethings not connected right.
