    It's a good rule of thumb to let turbos in general heat up and cool down. Newer ones , it isn't needed as much, but the older turbo engines didn't have the immediate oil and cooling sending that the newer oil pumps do these days. Since a turbo generates astronomical amounts of heat, it's good to let the oil and coolant run through it after running it hard, instead of just shutting it off immediately after and risk the heat seizing up the bearing, etc. But again, this is after really hard use and mainly on older vehicles, just doesn't hurt to do it on newer ones.

    Per owners manual;

    My wife would kill the turbo since the most convenient road between her work and my little one's day care is 75mph. :p:D

    There’s going to be a lot of vehicles heading to the junkyard early.

    I remember this from the late 90s, early 2000s. Didn’t realize it was still needed with engineering advancements.

    Stopping at a highway rest area is where I would be the most concerned about letting it cool down. Also if you live on a steep hill.

    Boy, those crazy track condition driving at over 62mph.

    It's interesting, one would think constant cruising at freeway speeds is usually associated with light load on the vehicle, after all we are all told how the turbo motors make effortless and abundant torque at low rpms. yet city driving doesn't require a cool down per the manual. Somewhat counter intuitive, I would say.

    A RWD 4runner should last forever. Should have less weight and more pep. Virtually no maintenance. I wouldn't mind having one for a daily primary. I would never trade or sell my 13 as long as it's running. It will be the only thing to start and get back home for free. That's where the real value begins.
