Just ordered a power liftgate from Hansshow. A condition of my purchase of a new SUV imposed by my better half who has a disability was an automatic tailgate lift. As we all know, the new 2021 4Runner sadly does not have this feature. The compromise was that I could have my truck but we needed to find a quality aftermarket solution. Vera at Hansshow gave me a fresh coupon code for ordering which made the difference. With the coupon it is quite reasonable at around $500 Cdn!
The 15% Coupon Code is “handsfree” for those of you who want to take advantage of the discount. I will post pics once I get the truck (when I take delivery in a few weeks) and install the power lift gate.

I am not good with videos but will try to take photos. Truck is expected May 8th, so it would probably be week after!

May 8th- so close yet so far! I should have asked before...are you going to install it yourself? I'm not much of a mechanic myself.

Do you know if it will also be able to lift the rear hatch if you have the additional weight of a ladder/accessories? Don't have either but having an option to have this lift system and the ability for it to raise the added weight would be so AWESOME!

I just closed the deal today on a TRD Pro....can't pick it up until Monday. I went ahead and ordered the lift gate, thank you for the coupon code! Good luck with the install.

Oh my God the instructions are PAINFUL!
I am on whatsup now again with China. I am hoping to get it finalized soon and will do up coles notes for members when done. All is working but the fob control.

On a truck frame, I think some SUVs are not. I call it the truck and have done for my last 4 4Runners. :)
I have a Camry too and when my daughter wants to use a vehicle and there is a foot of snow on the ground, hey dear, take the truck. Sounds good to me. Call it whatever you prefer :)

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
The first gen 4Runners were "small" SUV's. Roughly the size of the old hilux pickup, just given a lift, and a hard top.
When I first got mine, and parked it next to my pickup the similarities were amazing. From the very front to the back of the B Pillar, the two are virtually identical. Look at them from right in front, if it weren't for the lift, it would be virtually impossible to tell the two apart.
Same frame, other than my pickup is a long bed.

I don't know about the later gen 4Runners. I call them all "trucks" too, though. Just a habit, I guess.

What year is your 4Runner? I installed on 2021. Fob is not compatible.

Well do all 21s have auto start? They didn’t account for this. I would ask them. If it’s Hanshow they are liars on the phone. Vera will tell you what she thinks you want to hear. Instructions are God awful! Once I figured it all out it does seem to work and although the whole experience with them was atrocious the gate works and does what we need, except FoB function

No I haven’t heard a lot of great things yet and I’ve been looking for a more plug and play option.

Fishing the wires is a pain. Take adapters off so it threads easier, then reattach. You’ll thank me.

how is the lift gate working for you though? Ok? So if it doesn't work with my remote, is the only way to open it from the rear hatch then?

Ya, pissed there is no fob, lift gate comes down with a bit of a clunk, fuse cover doesn’t fit with their pony fuse, plastic cover for tailgate latch doesn’t fit back on (don’t really miss it though) It works and seems to be good quality parts.
