Yea the plan is to keep it for a very long time...but that's what I said about the Tacoma (October 2018 purchase) and my Civic Si (had it 4 yrs) before too LOL. I'm thinking if I add a truck bed cover/or shell I can make it work a little longer but the longer I wait, the more the car depreciates too.

    So I have 3 options
1: Trade in and hopefully get a decent amount on the trade in and get the 2020 4Runner Off Road
2: Wait another year or so to get a better deal on the 2020 when the 2021 comes out but less for the trade in
3: Try to enjoy what I have and stick it out as long as possible

    Decisions, decisions...

You could always list it privately and see what you can get. It's a hassle, of course, but might be worth it. You can always pull your listing. FWIW - I traded my Tacoma after 5 months.

I think first I'll shop around with dealers and try to get what I want for my trade in. I'm in the Phoenix area so there are plenty. If that doesn't work then try to sell privately and see what I can get. It'll definitely be a hassle since I have a loan but worth it if I can get into the car I want.

I think you can count on at least a $4k loss on a trade in. That happens as soon as you drive it off the lot. Waiting a year isn't gonna add much of an additional amount of loss.

Much better off selling to private party if you can.

Damn that's gonna suck! But you're probably right...Come October(I read somewhere they'd be available in October) I guess I'll be making my way to a Toyota dealer.
