So after reading all the rave reviews about the Pedal Commander I decided to try it out. Finished the install in about 30 minutes due to the decision on where to mount it.

I chose to hide it since I can easily reach it and it’s also so easy to switch from the app so I didn’t see the need to place it in view.

Not really much to see but I’ll post a pic anyway. I’m thankful that the wire was long enough to go through the dash and mount in the glove compartment so it’s totally hidden. Anyway. First test drive and I’m absolutely amazed how it increases the fun factor. This slow moving truck just got its balls back.

As others have said, it does nothing to increase horsepower rather it gives you back an amazing crisp throttle response with little effort of the pedal. In my first impression... perfect.

Thanks for allowing this big ol 4.0 feel like it should have.

One of the best mods I can do for this Vehicle.

I set my on City #4. Gets rid of all the Pedal lag and wait.

I agree, nothing better than to press the gas and have our vehicles responded how they're suppose to. wake up engine wake up!

After a very sluggish merge with traffic on Sunday I too made a purchase. Delivered today so all I have done is install it and drive it around the block but change in response being noticeable is an understatement. The truck now moves with a slight touch of the pedal and it's immediate and it's on set on the Sport setting.

It does not effect the warranty at all.

I like the glove box out of the way install you did, any other pictures you can share or instructions how you went about getting connectors across to the pedal?

Sorry, I didn’t take any pics during the install. It wasn’t hard though as I just removed the two lower panels on both sides of the middle column for access.

I did have to drill a small notch in the glove compartment panel for the cable, but nothing cosmic. That’s about it really, just fed the plug through to the other side around the vents. I did zip tie the cable away from the heater lines though as they can get pretty hot and didn’t want issues. All in all it took about 15 minutes with the worst part being disconnecting the pedal plug, lol.

I know that didn’t help but honestly once you remove the three panels you’ll see how easy it is.

No worries it's the perfect location for my needs and seeing it's Bluetooth all the better. had to make a couple of extra cuts for my OCD storage but install was all of 30 minutes ( I cheated and removed the gas pedal) thanks again.20181123_170047.jpg

I find the very very beginning of the pedal to be quite responsive. Alllmost touchy, compared to other vehicles I have driven. And the initial movement of the 4Runner to be responsive.
But, after that the middle of the pedal takes alot of movement to get much response from the engine.
With the Pedal commander, if you set it do that middle range feels better, is it making the very beginning the the pedal super sensitive?
Making it difficult to start off form a stoplight easy. ?
