Does anyone know if a front passenger seat will work in the driver seat position? I realize the backrest control will be on the right side. Intent is for salvage yard replacement of the seat and my guess is that there will be more availability of good passenger seat.

in my 4th gen mounts are in identical locations so it should work. the seat mounts are often the same to save money/time/materials, so it may very well work with little to no modification

Thanks for the reply. Now if I can find a '90 passenger seat that's not blown up.

I did this in my old 92 and my 95, the base of the seat is exactly the same the top part of the seat is a little different, I ended up using the bottom prt of the seat from a junkyard passenger side with my top part of my drivers side, made it perfect. After a while I ended up finding some Sport seats - the ones with more side bolsters - and threw the top parts in with my newer bottoms, then I got wet okale seat covers, unfortunately right around that time I sold the 4runner lol.
