@redneck pilot, when you put on the black valance did you have to drill your own holes for the front license plate?

Yes, but there indentations molded into valence where you should drill. Easy peasy.

Did you go OEM for the valences or 4Runner Lifestyle?

Edit: NVM, found you posted where in another thread. Thanks!

Glad your making your 4R just the way you like it. I have certainly enjoyed making mine the way I like it. Smart move installing the ECGS bushing. Did that myself when I installed my lift.

After waiting almost 3 months, our RCI skid plates arrived. Since it is only 100 degrees, I thought it would be a good day to install. <sarcasm> I also went ahead and installed the Apex Overland recovery points. Now, I am tired.

I’m impressed with the speed that everything went on the 4Runner, pretty sure the Admiral would not green light those extensive modifications. Trying right now to slowly coax powder coating the stock ORP wheels out of her. Your 4Runner is truly a thing of beauty and ready to tackle anything in its path. Very cool rig!

Thank you for your kind words. These mods have been green lighted, because it is the wife’s rig! Now, I’m just hoping she wants a new GX550 or a new Land Cruiser in a year or two, so I can inherit her 4Runner.I like it a lot.

Relocated the rear diff and locker breather today, using the ARB kit, some clamps, and a universal vacuum t-fitting. Very dissatisfied with the quality of the hose provided by ARB and will be replacing it with fuel line after we get back from Ouray Colorado. Anyhoo….

Well, made a bittersweet mod yesterday. Wife traded the 4Runner for a new GX460. She did not enjoy wheeling it as much as a Jeep, and told me she really didn’t like it as a daily driver, so, it is gone. I started to keep it for myself, but I commute 80 miles a day, and didn’t want to go from 36mpg to 16mpg. It was a pretty tough decision, but my wife is happy, and I’m happy for her. I will continue to lurk, as I may be interested in picking up a 6th Gen 4Runner for myself.

Great looking rig, do you know how tall that Yakima rack is? I only have 9 inches of clearance to get my 4R in my garage I’m looking for a rack, my Thule is way too tall.

I don’t know. We removed it the day after we bought the vehicle.

The front ones to clear the 285/70’s, the rear ones because we didn’t like the way they looked.
