So this is how it was actually. I had put a deposit on a 2022 silver TRD off-road premium. There was some misunderstanding about the front grill, I thought Toyota had changed it for the 2022 year model,, it looks awful. And then another dealer had a black 2021. So I bought the black one. I knew right from the beginning that the black would be a pain in the ass when I would be taking it to Trails. But nothing else was available so I went ahead with it

I black would be the best looking when you give a nice polish. May be those ceramic coating and polish jobs. After you get it don't post a pic until you do a ceramic coating on it. I bet it would be the most beautiful pic on this forum for a while.

I'd love a black Shelby also lol. Fortunately Shelby American is here in town across the street from my office, they can turn mine into a 'Shelby GT'.. at a very hefty cost

Nope, never. 4 cyl turbo's in American pony cars are a travesty I prefer not to be involved in.

Of all the Land Cruisers that I have seen in Toyota dealership showrooms, I think all of them were black. Also the Land Cruiser looks like a bigger Highlander lol. Unless you know about Land Cruisers, you could not tell the bigger Highlander is such a beast

May be GX is much closer to a Highlander with almost identical ground clearance 8.1 vs 8.0

Atleast Land cruiser have little better ground clearance. If you like traveling and put on rough terrain I think 4Runner is better suited. USA spec Land cruiser has less offroad tech and probably the worst choice of fuel range to engine size 24gal for the 5.7v8. It would be a nice comfy city car with 25 year service expectancy.

I bet you must have got the same Asian spec Land cruiser 200 back in you country as well. I'm sure you must have seen the Land cruiser 70 series and how tough they are vs 100 and 200 series. Back in the day there is a Land cruiser Prado identical to a Land cruiser 70 series as well. Solid axles no BS.

Land Cruiser is too expensive and too fancy for off-roading. Toyota change it to a luxury SUV. Nobody in their ight mind would lift these modern Land Cruisers and put all terrain tires on them.

Though I would buy a Land Cruiser tomorrow if I could afford it, Land Cruiser is a brand

Kids. Go to any car show. Drag race (not import). Cruise in. Black is the default color of imagine-less builders who can't seem to comprehend, everyone else's rigs are black. The term "Murdered Out" isn't macho?

IMO, and yes, you don't have to agree with me and get butt hurt, black is boring and overplayed. If you're happy with it, cool. You do you. I'll do me.

As an example. Random google car club photo. 11 of the 27 cars are black. Now Corvettes are another story, but they are home to the middle aged white guy living his teen dreams, today.

I guess I’d rather be a 37 year old kid than a grumpy, overly opinionated old man. Move on, gramps.

FYI - no butt hurt here, more perplexed by some of the dumbest crap I’ve read from a member so far in my short stint on this forum. I’m sure your next post will trump that.

Very nice!! Question: Have you had any of the issues with your Coyote that plagued the 2018 into early 2019 production run? Like oil consumption and noise on deceleration ?

Nope, haven’t had any issues there. I do notice a little bit of drivetrain chatter at very low rpm when I pull the clutch out in the first few gears. I’ve been meaning to head to the dealer about it when I get some free time.

Been in the family since it rolled off the showroom floor. grandpa has it down in Florida for now. Once he’s done with her, I’m gonna get her looking brand new again. Can’t say I wanna play with bolt ons on it just so it stays true to the name but who knows.

Be careful, you might make some old man even grumpier. Ridiculous. Beautiful classic! My Camaro isn’t all macho like that, it’s fathom green/white stripes.
