my 2018 runner came from the dealer with a Philips long life H11 low beam bulb and a Koito 9005 high beam bulb.

I thought it was odd that they used two different brands. Has anyone else noticed that their trucks came new with these same bulbs?

Was wondering if someone could check their truck and see what the bulbs say. It should be printed somewhere on the base of the bulb.

If I remember from mine, I believe the Koito bulbs are made in Japan where the truck is made and I think the Philips bulb was made in China.

What I hate is in all of the research I have done is that the H11 bulb was designed for fog light applications. Why they use it at a 90 degree angle in the projector beam headlights is curious to me.

My wife has a 2013 RAV4 and it uses the 9005 higher wattage bulbs in it.

But I've swapped out both my hi and lo for Xenon Depot Extreme LED bulbs. They are far better than the halogen bulbs that came on the truck.
