TRD pro oem wheels, 285/70R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Rago molle rear window racks, 15% all around tint, 3” lift, canvasback interior, Eagle Eyes smoked tail lights, plastidipped valences
ive got the 285/70R17 C load, I went with the upped ply sidewalls because where I live in Alaska our forest service roads (about all the off roading that’s available for me) are made of super sharp rocks that will pop tires for breakfast. Actually in Minnesota until March before I head back, drove on them from Phoenix, they’re really quiet, and my mpg only went down by about 1 from my oem duelers which was shocking. Performance in the snow so far has been good. I’m really pleased with my Grapplers!

I can say I'm happy with mine. I've always ran SL because I'm 98% on the road. I've been pleased with the Ridge Grapplers as they have fantastic on road manners, and I've yet to lose a tire to puncture. I've killed Duratracs, and Wildpeaks. I liked those tires (especially the Wildpeaks) a lot but the Grapplers are my favorite far and away.

Question if anyone knows...looking to get stock (265/70/17) Nitto RG, but what the heck is the weight? Reason for my question is on the Nitto website, this size is specified at 44 lbs, but on the Discount tire website, same tire is specified at 54 lbs. Which is right? Would think the Nitto/manufacturer is correct.

Remember that each tire size has multiple load ranges (P, LT, B, C, D, E, ect.) so you'd need to verify with Discount Tire which tire it is.

Thanks! Double checked and seems to be "apples to apples":

    Discount Tire:
    Mfg Part number: 217940
    Load Index/Speed Rating = 115T
    Load Range: SL

    Nitto Website:
    Mfg Part number: 217940
    Load Index/Speed Rating = 115T
Load Range: Doesn't specify, but assuming SL since the part numbers match from site to site

44 lbs to 54 lbs is significant...54 lbs is not an option for me, but 44 is only 3 lbs heavier than the crummy Bridgestone tires Toyota slaps on from the factory.

Looks like I'm good, ordering them. But will have Discount Tire weigh them before putting them on...

The one you have selected on the Nitto site is the SL version which is standard 4-ply. The E version of that size directly above your highlighted one is E rated which is 10-ply which is thicker and much heavier. If your hard core off road on sharp rocks, get E rated. If your road driving and doing very light off road with no sharp rocks, then get the SL as you will have a much better ride quality on road with the SL as it's closer to regular highway tires.

Excellent, thanks for the additional info. Definitely more on-road with mild off-road plans. Nothing hardcore. Appreciate it!
