2 very different vehicles. The Bronco is aimed at the Jeep crowd not the 4runner crowd. It would be nice if Toyota did come out with something like it though. Something that gives homage to the early LC's. I know the FJ's kind of did but they need something with removable tops and bigger tires.

I'm hoping the Bronco hype kicks Toyota in the butt a bit and inspires them to blow Jeep and Ford out of the water with the next Gen 4Runner.

    THIS!

I doubt they'll do that though, Toyota is too conservative. Between the GT40, the Raptor, and now the Bronco, Ford has a history of making fun vehicles. Also all the SVT Mustangs and Lightnings.

Toyota, not so much. I'm just hoping they don't make it worse, and turn it into some sort of a crossover vehicle.

The ability to fit larger tires, a more powerful engine and more modern transmission would be welcome additions to Gen6. As far as a removable top and all that stuff, I know there's no chance of that happening at all.

This would be a great opening for them to bring the FJ back though, or a budget LC. (They can't be selling more than a few thousand 200s in the u.s. per year, they really need to take that thing back down market).

I didn't like the first gen FJ, but if they made the second gen more like the Bronco and had a lineup of a few different models, it could be cool.

Full disclosure, I would totally jump ship from my 4Runner to a four door Bronco, a lot of the features tick off all the boxes of things I'd change about the 4R. The only thing is the cost, I'm already deep enough into my 4Runner and it's used, never mind spending that money on a new vehicle. I'm planning on paying this 4Runner off, and being done with car payments for the rest of my life.

I like the new Bronco, with its removable top, standard trans, 35s , and cool design. But the biggest thing the Bronco has going for it is Ford marketing. The campaign is excellent, and it’s hard not to fall for its emotional appeal. The photography, the backcountry backdrops, everything about the advertising is designed to make you buy it. They obviously did as much research on marketing as they did on the vehicle, which in a way, is nothing special.
I could buy one, but I’m going to exercise my pre order for a new Cyber Truck when the time comes. In the meantime, my 4 Runner is excellent and paid for.
