Sup guys finally convinced the wife to trade in her SUV to get a '16 TEP. Was going to wait for the '17 but wait was too long. I've been a member on Tacoma World for awhile now. Looking to get some ideas on lifting the 4Runner. Correct me if I'm wrong but the main difference are the rear shocks and coils for the back. I believe front is interchangeable with Tacomas. Anyways another newbie with questions. Pic of my Taco and wife's TEP. (@fajitas21 sup man)

Well I don't know your budget Juan, but I like the OME setup. And if you're going all out, the BP51 setup is overkill but super nice. I'd imagine you want somewhere around a 2.5" lift to get some bigger tires without going too tall to make driving a chore.

Essentially the fronts of the Tacoma's and 4Runners are simliar, but yep, the backs are coils.

You get to drive it yet? They ride so good.

Yup got to drive it yesterday on the way home. I do want to stay around 2-2.5 since it will be the daily. Thinking about 900-1200, for a 2.5 are Ucas required I've read mix reviews.

I'd say assume UCAs just to make sure you don't have alignment problems later.

While the fronts are similar on the on Taco's and T4R's, I don't think they are interchangeable....:notsure:

That's correct, I just meant to say they are IFS with coilovers.

If I had to guess the Land Cruises and 4Runners share more in common than the Tacomas and 4Runners.

I keep going back and forth between the KO2 and the Falken Wildpeaks AT/3. I think I'm going to let Juan lift his 4Runner and put these tires on it and then go ride with him to see how this setup is before I decide. Looks good man, excited to see how it all turns out.

I ended up going with Kumho Road Venture AT51. They were installed along with my new TRD wheels and lift yesterday. In shop today for an alignment. Will post pics tomorrow or the next day. The Kumho's ride very smooth.

So wheels and tires were installed yesterday, 275/70/17 KO2s with Fuel Machete wheels -12 offset. Looks great but now I have some rubbing in the front. My guess it's the -12 offset, will trim some today and hopefully that will do the trick. Here are my alignment specs note I'm on stock Ucas.

This probably explains the rub. I imagine it's happening at the front fender well.

That caster looks low to me. I know on my Tacoma 2°+ got the tire where I wanted so it didn't rub.

Been ordering stuff for the 4Runner finally got SSO slimline bumper from a GB awhile back. Still waiting on their sliders and paint them at the same time. Need to order light bar and circuit breaker for the winch.

Got impatient and went ahead and primed my SSO slimline bumper. Put 2 coats of Rustoleum self etching primer. Gonna let it dry for a couple days before applying final Rustoleum Satin black paint. This will give me enough time to get the light bar and circuit breaker I ordered.
