New to the 4Runner game

Hi everyone, my name is Trevor and i just graduated from Oregon State University, I am a long time Toyota fan, my first car being a 1985 Toyota pickup. Growing up about 45 minutes from the Rubicon Trail, it was bought with the intention of building into a crawler. It had the usual Toy crawler stuff, 22r, dual cases, Chevy 63 rear springs, sliders and belly skids, bobbed bed, elockers front and rear.



Sold that rig to pay for something that I could drive to Oregon for school and ended up getting a really good deal on this 2001 Tacoma TRD.


Had plans to SAS this on FZJ80 axles with dual cases and three linked front. But have only gotten so far as to put it on 285s and wheel it as is with the sliders and a homemade front bumper for added protection. This thing has taken my everywhere, through Moab a few times, snow wheeling in Montana and Idaho, and some crawling on the Tahoe side of the Rubicon.

Now plans have changed and I picked up this first gen 1988 4runner for a steal. The plans for this build is to put the dual cases and landcruiser axles under it, three link front and coilovers in the front and leafs in the rear. Stoked on this purchase as I have always wanted a first gen runner, cant wait to start cutting!
