Last week I bought my third and first 4th gen 4runner, it’s a 2005 v8 Sport Edition with 206k on it. I mostly got it for pulling the camper on long trips but I’m also going to be daily driving it. The previous owner removed the cats, which then in return threw the P0037 code and has my dash looking like a Christmas tree... that’s the first thing I want to get fixed. I’ve already scheduled the timing belt, water pump, idler pulley and tensioner to be replaced considering the mileage. Second the acuator clicks but won’t go into lo4 so I have the light about that on... Finally the bushings seem to be on their last leg so other than energy suspension bushings suggestions are welcomed. Also, some preventative maintenance I would like to coat the underneath to prevent any rust from forming.
Anything I’m missing? This is my first 4th gen and v8 so it’s a little different than my Tacoma and two old 3rd gens.
