We, the wife and I just bought a 1995 4 runner. It has a very clean body, but the motor needs to be rebuilt. We got it cheap, very cheap......$650.00 This is not my first Toyota the other was an older truck, great truck but I had to weld the gear shift lever way over to the right so I could drive it, other wise second was under my leg. I like old things, my daily driver is a 1971 chevy short box 4x4, weekend toy 1983 Camaro t-top, 1985 Sportcoach motor home, and I am in the middle of building a 1961 Winnebago camp trailer. As my name suggests I am a bird hunter, grouse mostly, I have two dogs, a Chessie and a Red setter. We live in central west Idaho on the Salmon river. This vehicle will be used mostly by the wife, which is great as I can hardly get in or out. I may need to move the seat back 4 or 5 inches. We look forward to meeting others on here and will be asking a lot of questions. This will be my first Toyota overhaul. I was told that it has a rod loose and knocks.

Welcome aboard Rodger! Got any pics of your '71 Chevy? Here's some pics of my '70 K-20 Suburban and '72 K-5 Blazer.

A man after my own heart. We found out that the Toy is 1993, not a 1995, and is an auto. Loaded with just about everything you could get in 93. It has a 3.0, ok motor I guess. Who ever owned it took great care on the interior, almost new looking, but didn't know how to change the oil, sluge!!!!

Nice K-10 shortbed! I'm always on the lookout for that particular model. They want ridiculous money for those out here. As for your 4rnr, the 3.0 has a bad rep for Blown Head Gaskets. It's caused by the exhaust crossover behind the heads that cooks the two rear cylinders. Other than that fatal flaw it's a decent motor. The cure is headers which ain't cheap. A lot of guys swap it for the 3.4, a vastly superior engine. The truck itself is really clean and worth rebuilding.
