I am a brand new member and I am here looking for advice. I have decided that I want a 4Runner for my next vehicle and I am here asking what to look out for, what years to avoid, what years to look for etc., etc. I have been on enough of these vehicle forums to know there are enough opinions going around to choke a very large horse. Come on you guys, let me have it all.
We don't intend to do any serious offloading, this is a vehicle to get my wife and I and our canoe to rivers across the midwest and home again without too much fuss and a little style.
Thanks in advance for all the advice that I can feel about to flow our way.
    Greg

I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh
Hi Greg welcome to the site, is there a dollar amount you want to stay under or a body style you prefer?

I don't really have a set dollar amount, just want to get value for my buck. As far as body style goes, the gen 3's are sharp but I am more concerned about ease of maintenance and reliability than looks.

After 5 Camrys, an Avolon and a Solara, I am sold on Toyota...BTW, those were across three kids and a wife, they weren't all mine alone.
