    Howdy from Michigan!

Just this week I traded in my 3rd Gen 2016 Tacoma for a 2019 4Runner TRD Offroad. Before the Tacoma I was a long time jeeper; up until I bought a JKUR that turned out to be a cursed pile of (expletive), that spent almost as much time at the dealership or in my garage on jack stands as it did on the trails. After my final straw with it, I headed to a Toyota dealership with the intent to buy a 4Runner, but then they had a inferno Tacoma sitting in the showroom that caught my eye, and I ended up leaving with it instead (without even bothering to look at a 4Runner).

I did like my Taco, and had some great trips with it... but it wasn't without it's headaches and quirks. And in the back of my mind, I still always wondered if I'd made the right call... then, a few weeks back, I happened to take a ride in a 4Runner... and it re-kindled those thoughts. It finally got the best of me, and I caved and went and took a test drive, knowing full well what the results were likely be.

I do already kind of miss the Tacoma, and I hope I don't have regrets going forward. But at least for now, I'm happy with the choice, and looking forward to new adventures.

Welcome friend.....well look at things this way. The new 2020's come out in August, and the Taco's are going to have heated leather and power seat options..plus a new audio system. If you regret joining this forum in 6 months go trade 'er in. :notsure:

Lol, well, I'm planning/hoping on actually keeping this one around; or at the very least longer than a year.

I'm a 20+ year Tacoma driver and enthusiast (all gens) but after two months in a 3rd gen Tacoma... it left me disappointed, to say the least. I absolutely hated it. I moved to the 4runner and it grows on me every single day.

The "daily driver" ride quality and overall quality of the vehicle itself knocks the socks off the Tacoma. Night and day. I'm astounded tbh. The only thing I miss is the bed and it's associated capabilities. Other than that, the T4R exceeds it in every way (most notably the engine/transmission).
