After having downsized to my Tacoma a couple of years ago, and "mamma's" prized Suburban has rusted away, we picked up a 2015 4 Runner with 77k miles on it. DSCN9821.jpg

Spent the last 2 days cleaning up the underside and spraying it with "Fluid Film" for the up coming winter road salt season. It looked good down there with the usual paint gone off the frame welds and them starting to rust but no rust on the body sheet metal. It seems to me that there is a 3 year "grace period" that the factory paint will provide rust protection, but after that you need to be active on the war against rust..... at least around here.

Welcome! Congrats on the 4R. The road salt is definitely a concern...where is "around here"?

Thanks all, "round here" is Maine.
"She" let me drive her 4 Runner the other day, It is a very nice vehicle and seem's to be more of a truck than my lil Taco in some way's. It's V-6 definitely has me regretting the little 4 cyl that I had expected a little better mpg's out of, but just like I've read on the taco forum, it's very close to the same. Perhaps there's a longevity benefit with the 4 banger?

I have adjusted to my downsizing.
