    Hey y’all!

I’ve had a 2011 Taco for 4 years, but sadly I’m having to sell in because I’m too tall to put a car seat comfortably behind me. Enter the 2018 SR5 premium 4x4 on Saturday. I don’t do much off-roading but do like to camp and hang at the beach. I’ve always done some modding to my vehicles, mostly cosmetic with some basic performance upgrades.

What are some good starter mods to work on?

Welcome over Justin, there is an every growing number of us that have made the same switch. As for upgrades, I guess that depends on how deep your pockets are and what you want to do with it. I hated the interior lights so I changed them to LED and I wasn't that fond of the headlights either so I changed those out for HID (both items should have come from Toyota). The blackout covers for the badging seems to be pretty popular around here too as well as the raptor style amber lights in the grill.

hmmm... i'll have to take a look once i get possession. I have this insatiable need to customize a vehicle a little bit as soon as I get it just to make it feel my own I guess. I'll have to go digging around to find the mods youre talking about.

Sadly, the deeper my pockets get the more adult my brain has become. Like "why replace my tires until the old ones go bad" type of thinking. Small mods for now, biggest might be a level lift.

Also, Sylvania LED 194's are AWESOME. Get the Zevo's, not the standards.

Do you mean it fit well in your 4runner? I see what you mean about poor cabin lighting now.

same boat kinda...howdy for TEXAS. story here is got my runner and did upgrades then surprise here comes the little man. happy I got to work on Frank before baby came. I guess this goes with out saying but jic...FLOOR MATS and cargo area cover. canvas back makes a good product for the cargo area and husky or weathertech. husky seems to cover way better.

That 'check to see if it fits your vehicle' crap on Amazon is garbage most of the time.

My personal experience, the Sylvania's blow hard knobs. The JDM Astar's you can get on Amazon work perfectly. I also have a couple of the festoons from Diode Dynamics.

You can check Xenon Depot as well. I only have their HID headlights, can speak to the LED's for internal stuffs.
