Need remote start. Upgrade entune premium to 3.0 or other options?

My wife just purchased a 2019 sr5 premium. She specifically asked about being able to remote start the truck via entune app. Her truck has entune premium.
After downloading the apps, she attempted to log into 'remote services' but was denied. She contacted toyota and was told her car only has entune premium and remote services require entune 3.0.
So 2 questions- can entune premium be upgraded to include 3.0 remote services?
If not, what can be done? The dealer lied about this feature (intentional or not). The car is 1 week old today.

Dealers will tell you grass is blue if it will help sell it.
Aftermarket start is better anyway, long as no smart key

What is the aftermarket option? Self install-able ?
What is the dealer installed option?

I spoke with her dealer... he was not helpful. Swears up and down that we must be confused. He would have never said that because 4runners dont offer the 3.0/remote services. I was there when he was telling her all about the remote services the entune premium had that entune plus did not. He gave her a brochure explaining it all and how get connected.
So whatever. My problem is an angry wife and a "s**tty pick up truck in the driveway". Jeeze.

Best option now? Give bad reviews and continue to fight w/ the dealer? Or give up move on and install aftermarket crap to shut her up? Its a no win situation in my mind.

Sorry to whine.... its been nonstop since midday yesterday.

I had 12 vt solutions on my old truck, worked great but was just over 100 bucks, for 349 I would get a viper system with alarm and 2way remote instead

I checked out the 12v solutions. Based on description their remote start + mobil app module would be the perfect solution.
I'll look at the viper too.
Does installing something like this void the vehicle warranty in anyway?
Is install as straight forward as they say? (I didnt watch the whole video w/ my kid screaming in my ear but it looked pretty easy to install)

I think i like 12v solutions or accessoride system over the viper.

I dont see any difference between the 12VS and AR systems... AR is like $100 less.
Are they both solid companies offering quality systems? Warranty of each system?

I hope to read about a solution.
    This topic is above me.
    Good luck on the hunt.
My wife will also appreciate it! Lol
Dealership wanted $500 for remote start. Kick rocks.
    Thanks all.

P.S. viper has has issues (unless changed) for the last 25 years I have been into cars...

What issues? from 90s till around 2012ish that's all I used and never had an issue except the remote looked like a mini cell phone. After 2012 most cars/trucks I've bought had factory auto start so didn't need any. I purposely did not want Toyota auto start stop (at least with smart key) I couldn't handle darn car shutting off when opening the door, one of Toyotas stupid mistakes

For some reason it caused many of my grandparents and parents vehicles to just stop starting. Even with the key.
This was in the mid 90's & the local installer was a big company but had very little skills & a horrible reputation. It could of been them.
On another point, a friend with another brand has had to send his transmitters in (3 in 9 yrs) to have refurbished so they work again...
Just never had a good experience with any brand. I hope that changes!

This system, self installed, will be $500. What a wonderful world of needless technology we live in!

Wait , what? Admittingly only watched 1st minute of the video but your kit does autostart with the pushbutton start without it shutting down when the doors open?? Darn, if true I would have bought a limited.

Unfortunately not the keystart vehicles have full takeover but the push start shut down like every other option. For now anyway. We may release a kit that doesn’t but that is pretty low on the priority list no ETA at this time.

Its really great to hear the mfg chime in! What can you tell me about your product possibly affecting the new vehicle warranty?
Also, when you say plug n play, no splicing.... does that cover all options and such?
12v solutions video showed the installer locating and splicing into a wire even though they claim pnp, no splicing.
    Thanks again for posting!

I am sorry that the dealer lied to you. I dont know of aftermarket ones but you should stand your ground here with the dealership and make them install something for you. I dont know how you can "confuse" whether or not the truck had a remote starter on it. If they did tell you that I would stand my ground if not I would threaten to return the truck to them. I'm sure once you put your foot down they will work with you. But reading other peoples comments it seems aftermarket is the way to go with a remote starter.

Yes for the key start and push start 4Runner 10 - 19 both kits are full plug and play no splicing at all. And yes other kits do have you connecting to other wires but not ours.

As for warranty you are good to go. The way it works with our product, or ANY product you install is that they can't void your warranty for installing an aftermarket product. Now say you are installing step bars and manage to drill through the vehicles computer somehow, they don't have to warranty the computer and I'm sure you wouldn't expect them to. That's kind of the nutshell of adding aftermarket products feel free to read up on the Magnuson Moss Act: https://apb-law.com/understanding-magnuson-moss-act-relates-aftermarket-car-parts/

Another vote for the AR option.
Suuuuuper easy install. Works great. I just have it setup with my stock keyfob.
On a sort of related note, also check out the Carista, gives you some control over settings, and lets you do things like roll down the windows with the stock keyfob.

No splicing for the one I got from 12 volt. But like everyone has said before THIS WILL NOT EVER VOID THE WARRANTY!!

Ok. Maybe we will consider installing the AR system. She really wants the app/ phone remote start.
