    has a replacement engine 85?
I bought an 89 with the engine on a stand (replacement) for the original blown engine. The bad engine was already removed and gone. Lots of parts in boxes. Laid everything out on the floor and started learning Toyota. Found I had many duplicate parts and I am missing parts. Have installed the engine and a new clutch. New gas tank, fuel pump and sending unit installed. Working on the intake side of the motor and found that the injector connectors on the motor are a different shape than the connectors on the harness. By researching I believe that the replacement engine is an 85. I have the harness routed to the engine but I cannot figure where the harness clamp attaches and a connection. there is a terminal with 2 brown and one brn/white all crimped to a terminal that is large and looks to use a bolt to mount it. Does anyone have a stock 89 with a 22re motor that they could take pictures of the wire harness routing and mounting? I have been to the junk yard several time and found some of the parts I was missing however I am missing the throttle body and its sensors and so far have not found one. Any recommendations on where I can find one

I have a 1985 that I can take a picture of he wire harness...I have to check because I think the harnesses may be different. Can you take a picture of what you have and I'll do the same...maybe that will help?

89 4runner wiring 3.jpg 89 4runner wiring 3.jpg when I route the harness above the intake the wire that looks like it goes to the oil sending unit does not reach the sending the unit. In research I see in pictures that an 85 motor has the oil sending unit close to the pan and on an 89 engine the oil unit is up by the oil filter. Since my 4runner is an 89 and the engine is an 85 this might be why the wire is to short. Does the wiring harness route above the intake or below it and where does the harness tie down bolt to

Here are four pictures from the intake side of my 85 4 Runner...I did see a couple sandwiched as you can see to the intake bolt...it may give some more ideas. There is a ground wire picture last...the first picture is the sandwiched ones.

Is it 4x4? If so, is your transfer case shift light indicator harness hooked up? It is routed trough the center of the lower intake plenum. I have done quite a few engine removals and had to pull out the spine of wires going to the transfer case out through the intake. I have seen people cut out a 1/2 inch of aluminium between the 4 cylinders to get out of all the work of fishing.
