I am new to the forums and need some help I just recently bought a 2006 4runner with very low miles (under 50k). I am stuck on what I should add to it and or remove from it. Anybody got some ideas? What should be the next thing I add?

List of things I have added
    Interior and Exterior LED lights
    Seat lifts
    TRD front Grille
Raptor lights (which I decided to take them off for now)
    Kenwood head unit
    Door handle covers

Yea, add it to my garage!

I guess maintenance like brake fluid, transmission fluid, differentials and transfer case if it hasn’t been done.

Cargo area and seatback protectors might be nice.

Rust proofing if applicable? Or treatment if it’s already rusting.

Second the cargo area protector. I use Canvasback but there are several good options out there.

It has sat in a garage for 10+ years so not much rust. Also right before I bought it all fluids got drained and refilled. Extremely lucky to have found this in my hometown!

I have looked into Canvasback since I have a 4 legged passenger princess. I have not heard anything bad about them

I absolutely love them. The one major drawback is it is relatively expensive. However, I believe you get what you pay for.

I had a set in my last vehicle and recommend them, just bought a partial set here for my 2nd row.

I'd say the chief drawback is that they aren't quite liquid-proof but it hasn't been an issue for me thus far. And this time I have the Toyota rubber/plastic cargo mat.

This is a good point. The port had tacked on the OEM all-weather cargo tray...so I too use the Canvasback as a base layer with the factory rubber cargo mat on top of it when I haul liquids and I have a fleece blanket below the 2nd row bench section. It is advertised as 100% waterproof but I didn't want to take any chances.

If your dogs are prone to accidents, that may be something to consider.

If you want to swap out interior lighting to LEDs, I did, using DiodeDynamics LEDs and they are great. I got mine on Back Friday last year, but they may have a Memorial Day Sale going on, worth a look.

Hey, welcome to the forums. I also have a silver 4th Gen under 50k miles. Check my site for a bunch of ideas on what you can do with it.

Welcome! My build thread is linked in my sig below and lists what I've done since I bought my '07 in 2014. I think , which widen the stance a bit, make 4th Gens look like they should have from the factory. Once you see how the tires are slightly inset into the wheel wells, you can't unsee it. At least I couldn't. But there are many, many mods and additions, many free or very inexpensive, that will improve your truck. Here are a few from my list: (as is, it drips right onto the frame, inviting rust) (stock are terrible) Console lid storage

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about what's listed in my build thread (or whatever, really). Always glad to pay forward the many kindnesses I've been shown here and in other owners' forums.

    Just a couple
Throttle-body Coolant By-Pass - during the summer, it keeps your intake air temps better/happier/maintains hp and efficiency...the only "problem" will be if you live in an area where in winter, you frequently drive into your garage where it's heated and it's often -50 to -40*F outside...that could cause the condensation to freeze and keep your TB plate frozen...VERY unlikely but possible

Sounds like you got an awesome low mileage vehicle. The one thing you can add is miles. I got bit by the Harley bug years ago and added 18 grand into a 17 thousand dollar bike and looking back it wasn’t worth it. But I did have every possible one off parts custom made. Never again. If you use it often enough it will tell you what you need or want. You will be going camping one day and find that the rack you have doesn’t accommodate your needs. That’s when it’s time to get the rack. She will speak to you.
