Hopefully this picture will help better explain what I wrote above. The end with the orange arrow connects to the OEM harness off the DRL bulb, and the end with the green arrow now connects to the new LED DRL bulb. The red and black wires that run between the ends of the new harness have to be cut (remove the wire cover first). Take the black and red wires from the orange end and splice them together, then connect them to the red wire coming off the green end. That leaves the black wire coming off the green end that has to go to ground. It's pretty easy to do, and makes the LEDs for DRLs work like they're supposed to.

I am planning on making this harness this weekend. If it works, I’ll make a spare and I can let you know in case you still want one.

By amber bulbs I'm assuming you're referring to turn signal bulbs? If so, make sure if you get LEDs, that they have built-in resistors. The first set I got didn't, and they hyperflashed. The next set did, and they blink like normal. However, the LED fronts I'm using aren't dual-element, they're single element like the rears, so they only act as turn signals, not marker lights.

This has links to the bulbs. Front ones have dual-element and all work perfectly so far.

I think it depends on the year. On my '23, the DRL is a dedicated bulb, with the low/hi beams being a single bulb in the projector. On mine, the turn signal bulbs will NOT work as DRLs, it's an entirely different bulb (closer to a typical headlight bulb than a turn signal bulb). On my '23, I think the DRL is an HB3 bulb, while the front turn signal is a 7444?

Same on mine. These are the bulbs I used for the DRL replacement. Looks like they only have them in white. Maybe some other source has them in yellow?

Nope. Those are only for front+rear turns and reverse lights. My previous post has the DRL replacement.

Auxbeam on Amazon sells amber bulbs for DRL. I have the white ones from them, but they have a very slight flicker on my 2022, it's only noticeable when you're close to the lights and looking at them directly. I was ok with it until I ran into this harness fix. I am waiting for parts to make a harness to see if it fixes the flickering.

I ended up using those bulbs, in yellow. Along with the harness mod, they work perfectly as DRLs. I had white LEDs (9005/HB3), I think they were Auxbeams, and they worked fine with the harness mod. I wanted yellow ones for DRLs, so based on what's been posted, I went with the DDHP48s.

Is it just me, so does this wiring harness mod look strange?

How so? it’s identical. I added more black tubing around the ground cable as well.

I see it now, just a lot longer than what I did with mine, and I didn't use wire covers...

I've got everything I need minus the ground wire and spade or ring terminal. Did anyone disconnect the battery before messing with the lights/ground post on the body...or don't worry about it?

I didn't disconnect the battery when I installed the grill lights or underhood lights (two different days). Just be careful and don't be touching wires where they shouldn't go, and you'll be fine...
