Misfire?

    Hi everyone!

    new to the forum here. I have a 95 4runner SR5 with 164k miles on it. recently (this week) the car has seemed to been misfiring, especially during acceleration or on small inclined roads. Check engine light hasn't come on, and no real alarming warning signs that i can tell. engine seems to be running on about 85-90% power with a thumping feel.

    I ordered a basic tune up kit i will be doing myself this week. hoping it's just some bad spark plugs.

    Any other suggestions on what might be causing this?

    If you're doing a basic tune up, it wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plug wires, as well as the distributor cap/rotor.
