New to the forum here. After test driving both new and used 4Runners and Tacomas for a few months , finally decided to pull the trigger on an older model Runner with high miles. Ive always wanted a Toyota and finally just bought one and I love it. My brother in law had one that had 260k miles when his kid totaled it. My question is how many miles can you generally expect to get out of the 2003 sport edition if taken proper care of and maintained well?

where was the vehicle and is it v6 or v8? theres a lot of different variables that can determine how many miles you get out of a vehicle

A few things here and there. Still dreaming up stuff
In the end with either engine and power train it is how it is taken care of. I tell my customers this I swear every day. I guess that is why my chain saw is almost 45 this year and she still runs strong!

150,000 miles on V6 SR5 2005 in Nassau Bahamas - where driving is seldom over 50mph or over 6 miles at a time.

Changed the oil today in driveway for $40. Why take it to a shop, wait 2 hours, pay $110, drive through traffic - when it only takes 30 minutes?

Changed rear differential fluid at 150,000 miles. 10 minutes drain and fill with dino Valvoline 80W 90 for $5.69 a quart. Why spend $30 a quart for synthetic when your 4runner may not last another $100,000 miles?

Had tranny fluid changed by dealer at 100,000 miles. $450.

Replace 4 failed starters since 2005. Replace one failed AC compressor with a Denso from Amazon for $200. Tranny and engine run like new. Same power and pick-up was as when brand new!

I have 2W drive and they are less maintenance. No transfer case to fill or break down.

Deep water can ruin your 4WD runner? How's the rust on the frame?
