Wisconsin area people! I reserved a group campsite at Boulder lake campground for August 19-22. Anyone interested let me know, and let me know whether you're tent camping or truck camping.

This is the annual Tacomaworld "Wisconsin Tacomas" group camping trip with a trail run Saturday the 21st.

    Feel free to ask questions.

Can I run 35s on stock suspension with KDSS? Sorry, couldn’t resist. :annoyed:

Brandon and I will likely be up for day as before.

Lol! Sure. Might be some slight rubbing. :D

Sounds good! There's a few new spots open with some pretty cool rocks to mess around on.

The Wisconsin Tacomas group camping trip is on this year!

    August 19-22

Boulder Lake Campground, the "Hemlock" group site.

Let me know if anyone is interested!

Thursday and Friday - no agenda, show up whenever, probably dinner and a bonfire with beers and BS.

Saturday - Pipeline trail day, with more BS, maybe dinner at Jungle Jim's again.

Sunday, pack up and head out.

A few people will be up around the Pipeline July 10/11. If anyone is interested in hitting some trails, let me know. I'll probably post a time and location where we can meet closer to that weekend.

Should be fun. The Pipeline is mostly easy but has difficult areas. Those areas have alternate routes that are easier. There is sand, gravel, dirt, mud, and rocks, and even some more challenging rock areas for people with armor. We've had a stock Tacomas and 4Runners along without any issues.

Just tagging everyone who has posted in the Wisconsin thread in the last year or so in case anyone is interested.

Also, see post # 126 about the camping trip if you missed it. That should be a fun weekend as well.

Total noob here! I have a stock 2018 SR5 and I would love to join in the fun on July 10/11. I have Wildpeak A/T 3's on it and (hopefully) will have the rock sliders installed tomorrow.
Couple of ?'s. What is the nearest town to the "Pipeline"? Do you camp (we do a tent) or get a hotel? Cook at camp, or eat out at a restaurant? I have zero/nada/nyet recovery gear. I don't want to spend the money for recovery gear before I take a few steps down that rabbit hole.
Wifey is a little hesitant going off-road. She thinks it will be too bumpy. (Yes honey, it will, but it will be fun) I'm in Belleville, 'bout 25 miles south of Madison. We're in our early 60's. Do you mind if we tag along?

I will need directions to campground and trailhead.

Mountain and Lakewood are both close.

I camp. There are numerous family style campgrounds nearby, with a range of amenities. There are also dispersed/primitive sites in the area if you prefer to rough it. I'll happily share details about the campgrounds I've visited in the area.

There are inexpensive hotels nearby as well

I have done both. For the August trip, we have generally done dinner Friday at camp, and dinner Saturday at Jungle Jim's Pub and Grub. This trip is a little less organized, though, so kind of a free for all.

No worries! I have a ton. We aren't likely to need any unless I do something stupid again. :D

Definitely bumpy! But, we go slow most of the time.

I know that place! I've attempted to fish that lake, but had more luck in the river. It's a neat area!

Not at all! We would be glad to have you along!

We met at a park and ride near the trails last time. I will provide a location and othe details as it gets closer.
