    LFD makes solid and honest products. The crossbars are a cost effective and weight-saving option for those who do not desire a full on rack.

    Howdy everyone. Stumbled upon this thread in search of seeing if there is anyone out there who has this crossbar kit and a roof top tent on it? I would be buying tent risers , likely 1-2” only to lift it high enough to clear the shark fin antenna and moonroof. Got an awesome deal proposed from friends for one but the concern is the 83 inch length being a larger tent and the overhang.

    The factory side rails are only rated for 135 lbs while moving. With that large of an overhang off the front, the factory rails aren't likely strong enough to hold such a large RTT without some type of fabricated extension / platform to more evenly distribute the weight across. Otherwise, it puts pressure on the mounts near the sunroof. Might sound like an awesome deal, but my guess is that it's more work, expense and possible headaches than you're ready for. If you want a big RTT, it needs a solid, full length rack and the appropriate mounting system.

    :facepalm::facepalm:

    I feared this response. Bummer!

    I’ll have to look at smaller options then…. Will gladly take any recs that would work for LFD crossbars if anybody got any.
