I purchased a revtek 1.5 in front leveling kit for my 2016 trail premium. I keep hearing about having to bleed the kdss and it costing a grand. All I'm trying to do is level it. The lift will come later. Any advice on the situation and how to do it without disconnecting the kdss ?

    A grand??? Holy shit!!

It’s not so much a bleeding of the KDSS system as it is a calibration. You can do this on your own on a flat and level piece of land or wherever you choose as long as it’s flat Please see the attached file.

I also heard that there was a way to "strap" up the lines so the would not have to be disconnected. Is that true and how is that done? Thank you for your response to my first question.

I did the ratchet strap thing for my old 2010 4Runner TE when I lifted it. This time I did not, I didn’t even disconnect the sway bars. I put the front end on jack stands, pulled the wheels and went to town. You’ll have to disconnect the upper control arm from the spindle to get the coilover out and back in. For the rear I used the bottle jack on the axle to press it down enough to get the spring out and in.

I disconnected my KDSS both in the front and rear for my installation. I used a floor jack to assist with reconnecting the sway bar. Look on youtube. was not hard at all.

When you say disconnected you mean you disconnected the sway bar bracket to showa the bar to freely lower down?

yup. I put my floor jack under the front sway bar on the passenger side and put pressure on the sway bar and removed the bolts, then lowered the jack. To reinstall, I just reversed the steps.

Did you open the valve's for the KDSS system? I installed mine without messing with the valve's, but I ended up with the KDSS lean. I'm nervous about opening the valve's and something getting messed up. It's expensive to have it recalibrated.

Just back them out enough (see the attached calibration instructions in post 3) and you won’t have a problem.

This, it wasn’t necessary for me to touch them either.
