Reading another thread inspired me to post here about really the last big issue I have on my 4Runner. The seal around the steering column where it passes through the firewall is deteriorating, broken, split. With the hood open I can see light through it and when it rains or I go through the car wash I get water on the floor and cold air inside.

That wreaks havoc if it is cold outside, raining. When I try to use my heater the windows will fog up really bad.

Has anyone ever dealt with this issue, I haven’t looked yet to see if there’s a replacement seal, I have a feeling that’s not something common and it’s Mcguyver time.

    Any suggestions ?

Ok, I went ahead and called local Toyota dealership parts department before ordering from Australia, Dubai or Canada.

They have them, original Toyota part...No# 45292-35050

Mine will be here tomorrow from Phoenix,Az. He says they only have a few in stock so if you think you need one, you know what to do.

I didn’t get a price but I’ll post up after I pick it up.

Picked up yesterday. $38 OTD. I’m pretty sure mine is original, it’s dried out and leaking so hope this helps, new one is nice and supple should last quite awhile.
