All great points. I’ve heard that before. So I’m in a Toyota Dealer now about to look at a TRD ORP.

FYI I paid $44,700 for my new 2020 Limited, 17 miles on the odo. And that car stickered for $49,300. It wasn't easy getting that price, but even now my dealer is advertising a 2021 Limited for 46K, SR5 Premiums for 40K and in the past when they had TRD Off Road Premiums they were advertising them for around 44K. Plus, that 44K that I spent was not a mirage -- I got 2.49% APR over 72 months and a trade in value at the very high end of KBB / Edmunds.

Point being, it's not that hard to get a legit 4K off a brand new Runner.

    Good plan.

You'll usually have access to better financing options on a new vehicle vs. a used one. You'll also eliminate the possibility that the previous owner didn't maintain it.....or worse. Over at the other 4Runner forum, a guy took his 2018 Pro to a dealer for one of his free oil changes, and the tech forgot to put new oil in. Motor seized..... Hell with that nonsense.

Same thing happened to a guy I work with on his Ford F150. Dealer wanted to replace the engine. After some back and forth they gave him a new truck.

Soooo many stories of pathetic dealer service out there.

Thanks again. I’m paying cash money! I also do all my basic service like oil, brakes, hoses, sensors etc. in a former life I was a mech. Dealer screw me just now. The TRD ORP was at another shop, two hours away. They lose!

That 2019 Pro I looked at this morning had some rough oxidation on the cylinder. Pic attached. Has anybody seen this? Just 21,000 miles. Is that normal? The rest of the engine looked fine.

Installed Rago brackets and 4" cube ditch lights. Weather tech mats. Cargo net. Cargo mat. Ordered Gobi rack with ladder.
$43 for 2019 Pro with 21k miles is not a bad price. Saves you about $10k off new.

Anybody know the MSRP for a White Pro in Florida. I think a dealer is trying to pull one over on me. Thanks.

I am not sure what part of Florida, so I just tossed in Tallahassee for a zip code. See below for results. That being said, dealers all over the country are known for asking above MSRP for Pro's.

Wow. Thanks for the quick reply. The dealer is in Jacksonville where I assume they may be imported there. Your number is what I had found else where. Thanks so much. I can’t wait to join you folks as a 4Runner owner.

Just wait till you see this white TRD with a white iKamper RTT. But it’s looking like it’s going to be a TRD Premium. A lot cheaper and I get to add better after market parts. Just like you folks said.

So here’s the final two picks. All white. A new 2021 TRD Premium for 45,468 or a 2019 Pro with 21,000 miles for 46,593. The Jacksonville dealer quoted me a 2021 Pro for over $61,000 All of these are Out The Door prices.

    Huh?

The 19 Pro price isn't the worst I've heard out the door. 61k is absurd.

Do you plan to replace the suspension? If so, then I’d go with the TRD Premium. The only thing that white Pro has over that white Premium is the resale value. If it was an exclusive Pro color that you absolutely wanted, then I’d say go for the Pro.

The 2021 seems like a no-brainer to me.

Someone linked a 4Runner and the estimated (I did not enter my information) interest rate on financing as in the 6% range. Are rates this high nowadays?

New car rates are in the 2-3 range with good credit. Used car rates are in the 4-6 range for sure
