I have a 2019 4RunnerTRD Pro with the roof rack and I’m looking for a kayak rack that will mount to it. Any suggestions?

I got a Malone Seawing and it works really well on that rack. I have a 12 foot kayak and the rack is pretty short, but the Seawing has worked great for me. I just tie it off on the front and back as well to keep it balanced.

I don’t own a Pro and therefore don’t have the same rack. But I’m posting a comment here since it’s kayak related. I have a Pygmy 18-ft seakayak and I really didn’t like the Toyota rack on the 2019 OR. It ends just in front of the rear passenger doors. The kayak would have been mounted too far back and the supports too close for my liking. So I’m putting on a SSO rack and then using a Yakama rack on top. With this set up I can easily remove the bars and carry plywood or other stuff flat on top of the rig. I think with the Pro, depending on your boat length you might need some support up front like one of those foam pads. However I’m a little conservative. Someone told me I shouldn’t tie down the ends of the boat because when the car flexes it will break the boat. Hmmm. You would really need to be tight and really off road.

The newer Pro rack utilizes the same exact mounting locations as all other model 4R’s so it’ll present the same issue as you stated.
