    Please help!!
    My VSC light stays on.
I went to point s tire shop to have them put my summer tires on. They forgot to reset my tire pressure sensors so I went back and they tried doing that. For about 1.5 hours after plugging in several of those electronic readers they could not get the light to turn off. I had to go back to work so I drove off with both the low tire pressure light and the VSC light on. Eventually the tire pressure light went off but the VSC light has stayed on. I went there with NO lights on!

Try this(or have your tire store do it). Apparently when shops plug certain code scanners into your obd(plug below the dash) it makes the VSC/TRAC lights come on and they have to be zero calibrated manually to make the lights go off.
I went to a Nationally known Tire and Battery store(not trying to name names) for a TPMS issue and my vsc/Trac lights came on. They claimed plugging in had nothing to do with it(so my wife has driven this 4runner for 15 years and the light magically came on sitting in the parking lot of the shop?!?). Had to dig up info and fix it myself.
If someone has a clearer explanation on what exactly happens when a scanner is plugged in and causes the lights to come on that would be good info.

Found a good explanation of the scanning problems:
