I sold my 89 Jeep cherokee a few months ago after deciding it was time for an upgrade, and have been lurking here for a while. I have read the 3rd gen 3 buyers guide 50 times making sure i was getting just what i wanted. Today I picked up a nice well maintained 2000 4runner limited with the rear factory locker I cannot wait to get it out on a trail. I am already finding this forum invaluable for information so thanks all but especially ripcord for the awesome buyers guide. here is an obligatory picture.

A few things here and there. Still dreaming up stuff
You have no idea how good of a choice you just made. I love my SAS rig but I like driving my 99 Limited and miss her. Getting her engine back together right now so hope it will not be to long before she is going again.

This has been a process, I cannot say enough about the buyers guide. I almost bought a 98 a while ago which is when i found the buyers guide after reading and researching I knew I was looking for a very specific 4runner. I want to build a great expedition vehicle for me and my kids, and after driving it for a few days i cannot believe how good it really is! this is my first Toyota and I'm an instant convert. My 4 runner glides down the road and for a 16 year old vehicle its amazing. i am working towards a full tune up and full fluid change, then I'm pretty sure it will be time for a few upgrades. I am looking to build a modest expedition vehicle to get me and my family into the amazing places this country has to offer and I'm sure i have picked the right starting vehicle. Thanks again to all of the posters here, there is a wealth of information that i am very thankful for. I hope to become a valuable part of this forum. Thanks again.
